Experience Summary

Mr. Paul Schlumper is a Principal Research Engineer with the Georgia Tech Research Institute and is Head of the Safety Engineering Branch, a unit of the Human Systems Integration Division. As Branch Head, Mr. Schlumper oversees the efforts of researchers working in the areas of occupational safety, hazardous materials, environmental compliance, emergency preparedness and response, and fire safety.

Mr. Schlumper has 25 years’ experience working as a trainer and consultant in Occupational Safety and Health, ANSI Z10 and Safety Management Systems including VPP, ISO 14000/Environmental Management Systems, and Environmental Compliance. As a member of the OSHA On-Site Safety and Health Consultation team, he has helped hundreds of facilities regarding safety and health management and compliance. He also helped establish and deliver courses as part of the OSHA Training Institute Education Center program.   For the last few years, Mr. Schlumper has also served as the Lead for the Atlanta Question Writing Team in support of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.

Mr. Schlumper is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Georgia and a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Mr. Schlumper received a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology
